BILD Awards Celebrate Excellence

Each Year, Developers Vie for Prestigious Honours That Laud Innovation in The Design, Construction, Sales and Marketing of New Homes

The deadline for entries for this year’s awards was March 23, and winners will be announced at the BILD Awards gala event on June 22.

The BILD Awards have been around since 1980 and recognize excellence and innovation in the design, construction, sales and marketing of new homes in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). More than 50 judges from across North America and Europe, each of whom has a minimum 15 years of experience in the industry and have senior roles within their firms, evaluate all the nominations. Last year, BILD introduced a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award for the first time, recognizing a member company that promotes equity and inclusion within its operation.

“For over 40 years, the BILD Awards has not only celebrated marketing excellence, they have also celebrated the innovation our builder/developer members push for in architectural design, housing type and in the planning of complete communities across the GTA,” says Dave Wilkes, BILD’s president and chief executive officer. “In particular, Project of the Year (high-rise and low-rise) and Best New Community Planned/Under Development showcase how BILD members design communities where new homeowners will live, work and play. These projects demonstrate how the industry is providing a wide range of quality housing options for home buyers in GTA.”

David Wilkes is president and chief executive officer of the BILD Awards, which for more than 40 years has rewarded developers for outstanding work. The winners of this year’s BILD Awards will be announced on June 22.COURTESY OF AMARA STUDIOS.

Frank Mazzotta, president of Armour Heights Developments, says the BILD helps companies advance and learn, educating members through new policies and enhancements to buildings and delivering a better and more sustainable product.

The significance of these awards is very important and respected in the building and development industry,” he says. “The BILD association connects the industry together and educates its members through training programs and workshops. Armour Heights is an active member of BILD and continues to learn and grow from the access to information provided through the association.”

Armour Heights won a BILD Award in 2021 for Best Brochure for its 89 Avenue project in Yorkville. The company also received a mention in the category for Best Suite Design for a full-floor suite that was submitted. The company entered this year’s awards for 89 Avenue and for its urban townhome development in Richmond Hill Ont., called The Hill.

Armour Heights will be entering in categories such as Best Innovative Suite Design, Building of the Year and Best Salesperson for its lead salesperson, Michael Mazzotta, at 89 Avenue Yorkville.
